    When Obama visited India recently I was surprised of just about $20b treaty with the government. I agree with the Cogresswoman re. expend more and not to curtail. I would have expected a program of soft loan repayable say in 20 years to India that would supply and provide infrastructural development funding about $250 billion. China has agreed a few days back to have a $100 billion trade by 2015 with India. US must target for $1 trillion by that time, in Agriculture and Industry. India’s Agricultural production is stuck at 300 million tonnes that by 2015 it should reach 500 m tonnes in my opinion.

    During Kennedy’s time Food for peace and USAID program was highly appreciated by India as well many countries. The volunteer team can be sent today under the development program of say $2 trillion funded by US Government as a soft loan, not Aid. This would provide at least a million jobs for volunteers who get paid for their services. The Congresswoman mentions 1% of the population holds control over 34% of the wealth and 90% of the population have no control whatsoever. [I enjoy US statistics greatly but missing Mark Twain however]. This 90% of the people are the ones looking for jobs. If Obama can persuade as Kennedy did to make this 90% people to move around the world US economy will pick up and therefore World Economy would. The art of being selfish, for all!
